Week 7!

This semester and school year is already going so fast. I am glad to be apart of the first Gaston Early College High School Freshman. I love this school and everything about it. Our building is almost done, and I can't wait to get in our building and have the real fun. Most of my friends was telling me not to do it, because I wouldn't know anyone there and it wouldn't be any fun. I still came and I proved them wrong. I meet amazing and wonderful people, I am never alone, and we always have fun!
This week has went so fast, but we learned a lot of stuff. This week we learned about how to keep yourself and others safe online and off. Our words this week was:
  • Self-Disclosure: sharing private, sensitive, or confidential information about yourself to others.
  • Reciprocate: to give and return.
  • Sexting: sending or receiving sexually explicit photo or videos by text or other devices.
When we did Digital Drivers License I found some cool facts about sexting, like how sexting ( sex texting) has become a popular digital access issue and a concern with all the users of technologies. More than a quarter of young people say they have been involved in sexting is some form.
The problem about  how girls/guys that you never think that will do sexting usually are the ones that do it. Mostly girls are the ones taking the pictures and sending it to the boyfriends that ask for the pictures or they will break up with them. Boys that ask for the pictures and say that they love you are lairs. I they want I picture and are just saying "I love u" just to get a little picture, are guys that shouldn't deserve girlfriends. If you are in this situation then here is some things that can help you out.

Ways to avoid sexting:
  1. Don't text back.
  2. Break up with them if they don't respect you.
  3. Don't try to avoid them at school. That will only make things worse.
  4. Don't send the pictures.
  5. Stay away from people that do sexting.
  6. Don't carry yourself as a sex toy.
Sexting

Ways to build a relationship online:
  1. Stay positive.
  2. Have nice comments.
  3. Don't give them any ideas.
  4. Be true to yourself and others.
  5. Don't put others down.
  6. Don't fully trust strangers online.
Having a relationship online.

This week we made comic strips about sexting and how to avoid it. We made our comic strips on Make Beliefs Comix! Also we did another one on building a relationship online. I placed the comic strips beside the facts. I hope that you have enjoyed my blog this week. I know I am starting to like early college much better. See you next week!
