Create your own mind maps at MindMeister
This week we learned lots of new stuff. We learned how to make maps online! like the one above, I made at MindMeister.com. This week we learned a lot of new words that we put in our maps.
- Authority: Look for the sponsoring agency and the authors.
- Sources: Insist that the web site can back it up.
- Purpose: Mission statements, typically in a link called "About Us."
- Evenness: Check if it is bias and see that issues have equal coverage.
- Coverage: Check the reputation.
- Timeliness: Sometimes web sites have articles that are individually dated. If these dates current, you have a clue that the site is maintained and updated on a regular basis.
The internet has so much stuff on it, we barley know whats on it, Anyone and everyone can put something on the internet and pretend that it is true, but it really ain't. This week on Online Driver's license we learned a lot on how to tell if a website is real or fake. This will really help me and other people to find correct information to use for papers and projects. Here is some questions that you can ask yourself to look for a good website.
- When was the information published or posted?
- Has the information been revised or updated?
- Does your topic require current information, or will older sources work as well?
- are links functional, or working?
This week has been an awesome week for me. I love it here at Gaston Early College High School. We finally heard that our school is done with inspections and they are moving furniture and smart boards in next week! That means we will be moving in the following week. I don't mind at all waiting a little longer because being here time just flies by. I am glade we are getting our new building because I have so much books. My friends and I went to the Gaston College Libary this morning and we got tons of books. I got mostly romance and adventure books. I love have friends here and meeting new ones.
